Site Overview

Located in Co. Waterford, Rathnaskilloge Solar Farm is being developed within the townlands of Rathnaskilloge (Ballylaneen), Glen West (Fox's Castle) and Curraheen (Stradbally) which is approximately 1.5km northwest of Stradbally. The site itself is a working farm consisting of improved agricultural grassland for the grazing of stock and sections of coniferous forestry. The solar farm will be situated on shallow sloping agricultural land at an approximate elevation of 50-105m AOD.Planning permission for this site is currently being submitted to Waterford City and County Council and includes for include one IPP control building and associated compound, MV station, electrical transformer/inverter station modules, battery storage modules, solar PV panels ground mounted on steel support structures, storage containers, CCTV cameras, access roads, fencing and associated electrical cabling, ducting and ancillary infrastructure. A Natura Impact Statement accompanies this application.The site is proximate to existing electrical infrastructure and the current grid connection point is projected as the the existing Dungarvan - Cullenagh 110kV line running through the site.The connection infrastructure has been deemed a Strategic Infrastructure Development by An Bord Pleanala.This solar farm is being developed by Highfield Energy as part of our broader commitment to a sustainable future.
